DEWA - In the Name of Love 2005
Had a fast breakfast, coz I wake up late from slumberland. Two days in a row?!... shoot I'm a total slacker now. Pretty excited to see the concert. It's been years since I had been to one (those were the days of gigs, shows and stuffs - in poly; who can ever forget the free shows). Off zooming to DB mrt station to meet up wif him and one of his frenz at Fort Canning. He bought the tix yez @ $35, unfortunately we can't get to keep them for momentos. Bloody organisers, so dissappointed; keep complaining abt it.Gate opens @ 1pm, but we still have to queue to enter; so much for VIP tix. Since the show starts late as we expected, we decided to grap a quick lunch.
Exactly 2pm, the park was blast with the opening performance by Aegyptie who plays 3 songs from their album. Have yearned to watch them performing since their appearance a yr ago. Great vocalist. Great music. Full of energy.
Bumiband is next. Surprised, surprised they had a lot of supporters. A group of Merbuk Patrol was their hard-core fans. Hehehe... Wat makes them hip? I guess it's the guitarist... he is so cute. Hahaha... Kinda a dragging perfomance coz they are playing almost the whole album, everyone is waiting for the main band to come on stage guys. Move along... I am getting impatient myself.
Finally they make their appearence @ 3:30pm. DEWA . The greatest band in Indonesia. The crowd went berserk upon their appearance. Not forgetting quite a number of Indonesian fans were there too. All the amahs and Wak Kangs. The ladies went wild upon the appearance of Tyo Nugros (the drummer). Can't be help, he is GORGEOUSLY handsome!!! CUTE!!! Arrrghhhhhh...
They just played their 1st song as the rain starts to pour. Luckily he brings an umbrella as there aren't any shelter. They continued playing despite the rain. We were wet and sweaty. They played their hit songs from all their albums. , wonderful performance. Full of zest and energy. Ended the show with one of their greatest hit 'Arjuna' @ 5:30pm.
Thank You DEWA for the great show... hope you will be back in Singapore for another great performance. TWO THUMBS UP!!!
